Who we are, and what we can do!

Samuel Ryder Academy is an all-through (4-19) comprehensive school in St Albans. As an Academy we are proud to be recognised as the Hertfordshire Regional Training Centre for Apple. Being selected as a Regional Training Centre highlights the commitment the school has made to facilitating training for teachers in Hertfordshire, across all phases of education. The aim of this training is to develop skills and confidence in using iPads and Macs in the classroom, as well as developing the computing curriculum, both within the school and wider community.

Apple Regional Training Centres create a community to share best practice and support staff to attain Apple Teacher status, a professional learning programme designed to support and celebrate educators. Teachers from across the region can attend our wide range of FREE courses to build knowledge and skills and, if they wish, to earn badges towards that Apple teacher recognition. There is also the opportunity to book outreach support.

As a school, we recognise the need to develop both students and teachers in digital technology and truly equip our students for "Education in a changing world."
